The most expensive motorcycles.

They are a breed of their own. Objects of desire for collectors and apt for very few pockets, these 10 motorcycles stand out for their exclusivity and price.

If there is one firm in the motorcycling world that is synonymous with exclusivity, that is Ecosse Moto Works. The Ecosse Heretic Titanium has gone down in history as the first-ever, all-titanium chassis motorcycle, a rare and difficult-to-work metal. Only 10 units were produced of the initial version, with hand-crafted carbon fibre fairing and a 2.150c.c. engine, easily capable of delivering 200 hp to the rear wheel so that its nearly 200 kilos in weight are hardly felt. The model is as incredible as its price, in the region of 200,000 Euros, although there is always the option of the basic model, without titanium, with a price tag of approx. 46,800 Euros.

Presented in 2005 in the Detroit Auto Show, the Dodge Tomahawk, a spectacular four-wheel mastodon, is equipped with an aluminium-alloy 8.277c.c. and 500 hp Viper engine, capable of reaching 657 km/h. This all-American, futuristic model costs around 250,000 Dollars (approx. 190,000 Euros).

A concept model that never came to be mass produced, the Concepto Macchia Nera concealed a Ducati 998 WSB engine. It was valued at 201,000 Dollars (approx.148,000 Euros).

With a Rolls-Royce turbine

A superbike which did receive official approval and went out on US roads is the MTT Turbine Superbike, also known as the YK2. Capable of exceeding 402 km/h as a result of its Rolls Royce Allison 250 series gas-turbine engine, used in helicopters, it is equipped with a rear-mounted camera with LCD display to avoid wing mirrors. It is considered the fastest commercial bike in the world and costs more than 150,000 Dollars (110,000 Euros).

The next on the list, with an approximate price of 88,000 Euros, is the MV Agusta F4 CC. Ninety-nine percent of its parts are handcrafted. It is equipped with Brembo brakes with radial monobloc callipers, an 1.078c.c. 200 hp engine, a titanium exhaust system and weighs 187 kilos. It was part of Claudio Castiglione’s dream, director of the prestigious Italian firm, and production was confined to one hundred units.

Something more affordable, approximately 84,000 Euros, is the Münch Mammut 2000. It gets up to around 400 km/h and is equipped with a mobile phone adapted to its electronic system to enable service technicians to receive and analyse engine data from the workshop and intervene in electronic motor management in a matter of second, very much like the system used by McLaren in Formula 1.

Also Ducati

In price, the Münch Mammut is followed by the queen of our motorcycling ‘Top ten’, the Ducati Desmosedici RR, since for a just over 65,000 Euros one can buy the best example of the mastery by the Italian firm. Following behind are other sister brands, such as the Bimota DB7 Oronero (over 45,000 Euros).

Harley-Davidsonalso has a place on this list of the most expensive bikes. Its CVO Ultra Classic Electra Glide costs more than 42,000 Euros in the most simple version.

Lastly, the Ducati Tornado 900 Tre LE, another emblem of the Bolognese brand, costs in region of 40,00
