A summer abroad to learn a language.
Do you have young children or adolescents? That is the best age for learning a language. So don’t be afraid: there are professional organisations offering summer courses abroad with guaranteed monitoring throughout the length of the stay.
"Close monitoring 24 hours a day throughout the length of the stay. Parents need not worry. Language courses abroad for children and adolescents are organised with a high degree of professionalism, offering all the guarantees that a family needs. A summer away from home can be an opportunity to learn and have fun, even for the youngest members of the family.
In most cases, carefully selected monitors accompany the children from the airport of departure and look after them at all times in the destination country: in the school where they attend the course, in the house or residence where they stay, during outings, etc.
For example, the packages offered by Newlink include the following three guarantees: a “24-hour assistance plan"" (children travel with a monitor who is there to help them and solve any problem that may arise during the length of the course. Furthermore, the child and his or her parents are given a telephone number which provides 24-hour assistance in Spanish), a ""24-hour solution plan"" (which means that, in the event of an incident, the company undertakes to solve the problem within 24 hours) and, lastly, the ""arrived safely"" message (for the family’s peace of mind, parents receive an SMS to confirm that the child has reached his destination).
But the assistance begins way before the adventure: as soon as the family makes the reservation the company assigns a personal advisor who the child and his or her parents can contact directly at any time to clear any doubt.
Safe and well conceived
""Safety is our priority"", is also affirmed by EF, an organisation with 40 years of experience which organises summer camps in the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia, Malta, France and Germany. A Spanish action leader is responsible for the group’s wellbeing from the time it leaves the country and throughout the length of the stay in the destination country.
Once in the so-called ""EF global village"", a Spanish monitor remains available to offer help to the student in his or her language. The director of the village supervises the accommodation, the classes, the activities and the discipline. He is joined by an activity leader, the person responsible for managing free-time activities: sports, trips and cultural outings.
Another organisation with wide experience in summer courses abroad for young people is International House, which offers English language courses for children and adolescents with boarding in private houses or residences. The courses comprise 15 hours of lessons a week, although they can be increased to 20 hours, in groups of a maximum of 15 pupils of various nationalities. Furthermore, if staying with a family and sharing a room, the other student must be of a nationality with a different language.
ESL also offers a very attractive package which guarantees constant quality control, both with respect to the schools – all of which are widely recognised and certified by prestigious international centres– and to the programmes. The organisation sends its own ""group leaders"" to the summer programmes in Salina Bay (Malta), Brighton (UK), Los Angeles (USA) and Boca Ratón, Florida (USA)."
