"""Internet is the future"", we used to say up until recently. That future is now here. Everything that surrounds the Web has given rise to a world of opportunities. This explains the enormous success of courses –many of them university– aimed at new Internet professionals.

All of this can be done from home. The best online web-design schools are, of course, based in the United Sates. The most renowned is no doubt the University of Phoenix which, apart from courses in web design and development, also offers courses in visual and multimedia communication. Westwood College has the advantage of small classes and flexible hours.
The American InterContinental University has one the best courses in digital design. Everest University awards a diploma in >Computer Information Science: providing the tools to create new programmes or update existing ones. An education branch that immediately opens the doors to the labour market.
Also very popular, both in web and graphic design, are the International Academy of Design and Technology and The Art Institute of Pittsburgh Online. The schools worthy of a place in the ""top ten"" also include DeVry University, Rasmussen College and Kaplan University.
The Web in the classroom
Although online courses offer unquestionable advantages, such as the possibility of combining them with studying or working, some people still prefer conventional attendance courses, which are much more suitable for students who feel the need to exchange experiences and, from a professional point of view, obtain greater assurance.
If you choose to study in the United States, the best choices include the Art Institutes: 45 web-design and interactive media schools spread throughout the country. In the state of New York there are very good courses at Hudson Valley Community College and Erie Community College.
In Florida, Strayer University –an institution with a history of nearly 120 years–trains students in web and database development techniques on its Palm Beach, Tampa, Coral Springs and Fort Lauderdale campus. In California, the University of Phoenix has its most popular departments in San Diego and Sacramento. And Westwood College, with its central campus in Denver (Colorado), has 17 campus in 6 states.
Nevertheless, there is no shortage of good education opportunities in Spain. The Escola d’Informatica i Oficis in Barcelona offers a master’s course in creating and designing web pages and editing photographs, plus an interesting course in 3D animation. The popular IED (Instituto Europeo di Design), with a campus in Barcelona and Madrid offers three-year courses and the possibility of intensive summer courses."
