The Best of Ski and Snow

Whistler Blackcomb, Olympic Canada
Heard on the helicopters that transfer Russian millionaires to the most inhospitable slopes of the Swiss Alps: the best ski places are in Canada. Whistler, venue of the 2010 winter Olympics games, with three glaciers, more than 200 delimited slopes and the high quality of its snow, has become the world capital of helisky. It has the largest area of the world to ski, allowing visitors to spend up to two weeks without going to the same slopes.

St. Moritz (Switzerland), real decadent luxury
Skiers wearing tweed -never synthetic fibre-, 350 kilometres of slopes, polo tournaments, cricket and horse races on snow, and 322 days of sun a year. Here is where bobsleigh was invented and where the first ice sledge was built.

Lech-Zürs (Austria), the favourite of nobility
Caroline of Monaco sips champagne while she waits for her custom made Strolz boots. The Spanish Royal family, as well as the Jordan and Swiss, are usual visitors. It shares ski areas with another Austrian mecca: St. Anton.
