It is genearlly at the top of the lists of best cancer centres drawn up by US specialists. Attached to the University of Texas, the centre's ratios of technological resources and nurses per patient are uncommonly high. It has 1,200 doctors as well as medical teams specialised in every type of cancer. The centre is the most widely preferred by the world's large fortunes and famous personalities, most of whom check in under false names.

Competes with the Houston centre for top place in the ranking of the most preferred cancer centres. It was the first private cancer centre in the world and is now famous for managing to cure the rarest types of cancer. Cancer patients from all over the world make a pilgrimage to this centre.

Specialised in breast cancer, its success rate is 90%. Directed by the prestigious Humberto Veronesi, candidate for the Nobel prize in Medicine. It is one of the few centres in Europe where nuclear medicine is used for therapeutic purposes.

Maintains that it has the best professionals, which it has trained as an associate of the Harvard Medical School, the most prestigious school in the United States. They discovered the first intelligent drug against cancer.
7.- Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle. Several Nobel prize winners on its payroll.
Renowned for having three Nobel prize winners among its researchers. Its head of clinical research is the world famous, Fred Applebaum, an expert in haematological malignancies and the author of more than 800 publications.
8.- Fox Chase in Philadelphia. The cradle of cancer research.
Recognised in the US for its leadership in medical radiation and cancer surgery, it develops technology used by cancer centres throughout the world, in particular technology associated with image and robotic surgery.
9.- Instituto Valenciano de Oncología. The largest Spanish specialised centre.
Its history dates back 30 years. It employs pioneering techniques in the treatment of skin cancer as well as a very avant-garde radiotherapy treatment. Also participates in more than 80 international clinical trials for treatments, involving 10% of its patients.
10.- Centro Oncológico M.D. Anderson in Spain. As in Houston.
Subsidiary of the American M.D. Anderson cancer centre in Madrid, maintains the high-quality standards of its parent company under a contract. It has 150 oncologists and is in the process of growth. It plans to have a specific medical team for each type of cancer.
