Until 1856 considered the highest summit on Earth, its ascent on the north side (open to the public in 1995) has become an alternative to the mass route that leads to the Everest base camp. Located in Taplejung 2,200 metres high and reaching up to 5,150 metres, a long and tough ascent that takes 22 days. The accommodation consists of hostels in the Nepalese style. The regions visited are practically uninhabited.
Going back hundreds of years, the Andes route allows you to visit the settlements along the way. It takes between 3 and 5 days, but the altitude requires prior acclimatisation.
Skardu is the starting point of this trek, which may require some knowledge of mountain climbing. It takes between 15 and 17 days. From Concordia you can reach the base camp of K2.
